SCPi/SMPi compact ejectors set new technological standards thanks to integrated IO-Link functionality:
- IO-Link facilitates the remote parameterization of sensors and actuators, and makes uninterrupted communication possible down to the lowest field level.
- Manual parameterization on-site is therefore not necessary since all configuration data is fed into the system via the unit.
- Process parameters can even be saved and simply transferred to the new unit if a unit is replaced. They can also be changed quickly and easily during a production cycle.
- The integrated system monitoring function brings quantifiable user benefits. It detects errors and subtle changes at an early stage making it easy to resolve any problems. The user has access to the system status at any time and can plan servicing measures accordingly, thus reducing costly machine downtime.

Making energy savings and gaining processing speed are two of many advantages from which SCPi/SMPi compact ejector users benefit:
- The integrated air-saving function ensures that the suction function is switched off as soon as a vacuum value that has been pre-defined as “safe” is reached. This way, the user can save up to 65% compressed air compared to a system without an air-saving function.
- Excess compressed air consumption also impedes the integrated pulse valve, which ensures that the most recent valid system status is restored following machine downtime or a power failure.
- The power blow-off function guarantees maximum processing speed and ensures that even the most sensitive workpieces are released undamaged. In addition, the adjustable and automatic blow-off pulse means that programming the external “blow-off workpiece” control signal will no longer be necessary.
Two series, three performance levels

- More efficiency: 65% less compressed air consumption than with conventional vacuum generators, thanks to the integrated air-saving function
- The SCPi compact ejectors (without the power blow-off function) and SMPi (with the power blow-off function) are available in three performance levels with nozzle sizes 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm and 2.5 mm.
- With the suction valve functions, the user can choose between NO (normally open), NC (normally closed) and IMP (bistable, switched with pulse) versions. Schmalz offers the versions VD (digital vacuum switch) and RD (integrated air-saving function with digital vacuum switch) for system monitoring.
- Thanks to the built-in self-cleaning dirt sieve, changing the filter is no longer necessary; time-consuming maintenance work has become a thing of the past.
- Constructive elements such as the light and compact design, standardized connections and the quick-change adapter make installation in gripper systems simple, prevent detrimental effects on system dynamics, and significantly reduce assembly times.
- A 3 x 7-segment display, four LEDs, four setting buttons and a vacuum status display make it easy to perform everyday tasks: The vacuum parameters can be entered and read quickly, the system status is displayed clearly and is readily understandable, and the display for signals and valve statuses indicates clearly when threshold values are reached.
