Honoured for many years of cooperation and partnership

We have now been cooperating with ABAS for 17 years – an unusually long time in the IT sector. For this reason, ABAS recently commissioned a sculptor to create a metal sculpture for us. This work of art is titled "Begegnung" (Meeting of Minds) and represents two persons walking towards each other through a gateway. The photo shows the sculpture being handed over by the managing director of ABAS Projektierung GmbH, Mr. Wolfgang Klemm, to Wolfgang Schmalz and Werner Fischer. We chose ABAS as our software partners in 1991, on the basis of their very good price-performance ratio and their unbeaten flexibility. Today they are indispensable to us. Since then, we have installed no less than 16 major updates, almost one per year.

Initially, we had only a few computers and user licenses; today, 130 members of our staff can use the system simultaneously. The first versions of the program had an ASCII interface which was rather difficult to use, but this changed in 1999 with the introduction of a GUI (Graphical User Interface). Today, we operate in seven different countries, and have 18 different companies, all of which have to be kept up to date. We are confident that we will continue to work with ABAS in the future, since a changeover to another system partner, such as SAP, would cost an enormous amount of time and money.
