Together with his brother Dr. Kurt Schmalz, Wolfgang Schmalz lead the traditional business to a global leader in vacuum technology.

On the 11th of January 2010 Schmalz celebrated the 20 years period of employment of the company manager Wolfgang Schmalz.
In January 1990, Wolfgang Schmalz joined the family business Schmalz, at that time with 54 employees, as Managing Director to lead the company together with his brother. Due to his experience in a major company, Wolfgang Schmalz brought lots of fresh impetus to J. Schmalz GmbH.
The good cooperation of the Schmalz brothers soon bore fruit. Under their joint leadership, the traditional business grew into a global leader in vacuum technology with 560 employees in the Schmalz companies worldwide. The company has been awarded many important prizes for modern and innovative business management as well as its environmentally-conscious practices over the course of the years.
