One-hand operation for load classes 20 and 30 kg

The vacuum tube lifter series JumboSprint, JumboErgo und JumboHandy from the vacuum technology specialists J. Schmalz GmbH in 72293 Glatten are widely used in many industrial and logistics companies. Due to their modular concept, it is possible to construct individual handling devices from the various components and sub-systems. The continued development of the vacuum tube lifters opens up more and more new applications and material-handling alternatives for customers in all sectors of industry. The latest example of this development is the new, completely re-designed vacuum tube lifters of the type JumboHandy, which set a new worldwide standard in one-hand operation in the load classes 20 and 30 kg.

For these newly designed, easy to operate vacuum tube lifters of the JumboHandy series, there is now an alternative power supply: the vacuum for gripping and lifting is generated pneumatically with the aid of a so-called multi-stage ejector of the type SEM 100 whose optimised Venturi nozzle quickly generates a high volume flow. The vacuum tube lifter can this be operated from a compressed-air supply and needs no electrical connections. This, in turn, means that these vacuum tube lifters can be used in explosion-hazard areas in accordance with the ATEX standards 137 and 118a, which came into force on 01.07.2003.

Since the multi-stage ejector is mounted directly on the lifting tube, there are no long vacuum lines and vacuum generation is extremely efficient, which means that a compressed-air line with a small cross-section can be used. Special modifications to the venting openings and the multi-stage ejector considerably reduce the operating noise level. The ergonomical control unit has been improved again and permits rapid guidance, precise positioning and thus rational handling of many types of loads.

Safe operation is ensured by a load-detection valve, which permits controlled and adjustable lifting speeds, regardless of whether or not a load is present, and by improved valve technology. The latter permits, for example, fast and reliable release of loads with airtight surfaces, thus improving the handling efficiency. Various load grippers and suction pads can be mounted in the vacuum tube lifter JumboHandy for handling loads of all types and sizes. Typical examples of these are a crane hook or single or double suction pads.
