Many companies are ahead of the times and undertake, to the benefit of their customers, to provide more service and security than is actually specified by law. One such company, without doubt, is the vacuum technology specialist J. Schmalz GmbH in 72293 Glatten, which from the very beginning offered a 36-month warranty on its vacuum handling system VacuMaster Vario and a 24-month warranty for the vacuum tube lifter Jumbo.

Schmalz is of the opinion that customers' requirements can be met only by providing quality and performance. For this reason, the vacuum handling systems are designed and built to be robust systems with a long operating lifetime and, above all, to be functional. On this basis, Schmalz was able to offers warranties and guarantees at a time when these were not required by law and none of the company's competitors offered this service. Today, warranties are required by law! In Germany, the latest drafts for business-to-customer and business-to-business now specify that the supplier must provide a 24-month warranty in the first case, while suitable provisions must be made in the supplier's general terms of business in the second case.

During the development of the first vacuum handling systems, Schmalz placed great emphasis on reliability and, in the course of further development, has now reduced the number of parts in the units in order to improve the operational reliability even further. A typical example of this is the new series of "Schmalz blowers" for the generation of vacuum. These robust blowers, which were developed specifically for use with vacuum tube lifters, are guaranteed for 24 months, just like the other vacuum generators (pumps and ejectors) from Schmalz. This means that all components of the modular Jumbo system are now guaranteed for 24 months in single-shift operation (except for the parts which are subject to wear). In the case of the standard version of the vacuum lifting device VacuMaster Vario, all components – apart from parts subject to wear – are guaranteed for 36 months.

With these new warranty periods, Schmalz guarantees the maximum possible reliability and availability. For the customer, this means that Schmalz products are a safe investment. In order to ensure the technical availability, and thus the efficient and safe use, of the vacuum handling systems, Schmalz offers various services, such as special maintenance agreements which, if desired, also include the replacement of parts subject to wear, a complete technical inspection and also the necessary annual inspection to ensure compliance with accident-prevention regulations. These services are not only available during the warranty period, but also after the warranty has expired.
