General Information

System Monitoring

Measuring and control devices are decisive for the safe operation of a vacuum circuit. In addition to vacuum regulators and manometers for displaying the vacuum valves, our vacuum switches play a major role.

A distinction is made between electronic vacuum/pressure switches, pneumatic vacuum switches and mechanical vacuum switches.

Vacuum and pressure switch

The electronic vacuum/pressure switches are particularly suitable for applications where extremely high switching accuracy, repeatability, high switching frequencies and a long lifetime are required. This applies, for example, for the loading of feeders in the automobile industry or the monitoring of machining centres. In both cases, a high degree of safety, speed and, sbove all, reliability are absolutely necessary.

Further advantages of the electronic switches are their small size and the facility for continous adjustment of the hysteresis and/or switching point. Some models, such as the type VS-V-D-PNP, also provide a digital display of the vacuum value or two independently programmable switching points.

The pneumatic vacuum switches are used primarly fro direct switching of small ejectors or for control and monitoring in purely pneumatic processes. The main advantage of these switches is that an internal pneumatic valve is controlled directly controlled by the vacuum and opens or closes accordingly. This means that no electrical connections are necessary, considerably reducing the installation costs.

The mechanical vacuum switches are used primarly in applications where the accuracy and additional functions are less important than the reliability of the basic function and the robust design of the switch. Typical applications are simple handling devices for which safety devices are mandatory: the vacuum is monitored with the aid of a vacuum switch with a fixed hysteresis.
