The District of Freudenstadt

The main town in the region, Freudenstadt, is accessible in minutes, including by public transport. With a population of around 23,500 people, it is the largest city in the region of the same name. Take a stroll around Germany’s largest marketplace, where you can find over 200 businesses. From elementary schools to vocational high schools, the area offers excellent educational opportunities for children and young people.

Freudenstadt also has much to offer in terms of leisure activities: The “Panorama-Bad” leisure complex includes a wellness center and outdoor swimming pool, and there are a wide variety of play areas, sport fields and indoor play centers to occupy the kids on the weekends. There are more opportunities for sport in the winter months, with cross-country trails and ski slopes in the surrounding towns. The nearby Black Forest National Park is a popular destination for nature-lovers.

The well developed “S-Bahn” commuter rail network towards Karlsruhe and Stuttgart is a simple and convenient way to take trips outside the region. Autobahn A81 is less than 20 minutes away.
