I joined Schmalz as an outside sales manager around 15 years ago. The most crucial thing about Schmalz was and is that the company is owner-managed and produces mainly from its site in Glatten. For me personally, it was important to work where the decisions are made. That became even more important when I took on the position of Head of Sales Process Germany. I really value the short decision-making paths and ability to directly influence products and services. My current area of responsibility as Head of Sales Process Germany covers a wide range of tasks. Alongside leading and organizing my team, my tasks also include managing key accounts. Personal contact with the customer is extremely important for making the right strategic decisions and anticipating market trends. I get a lot of input for innovations from the customer. We work with our product developers to realize these ideas and requirements in new products with added value for our customers.
I also work closely with the executive board and other department heads. We maintain a very open and collegial relationship with each other, which is something that I really value in my work.
For the future, I aim to play an active role in shaping the growth of the company. From a sales perspective, of course, I can influence turnover directly because over 50% of sales at Schmalz are achieved through Germany. What I enjoy the most is when, thanks to our growth, we get to welcome more new colleagues to our sales conferences.
