Design Engineer (m/f)

for Vacuum Automation and Vacuum Handling Systems

Your Tasks

  • Handling project and order-specific designs of steel structure and gripper.
  • Creation of complete drawing sets including parts lists.
  • Design according to order design checklist.
  • Observance of technical and legal guidelines, standards and regulations to the best of your knowledge and belief.
  • Observance of the Schmalz design guidelines.
  • Creation of appropriate, technically correct designs by the deadlines set.
  • Completion of ongoing general design tasks as instructed by your supervisor.
  • Correct assignment of part numbers and creation of new parts/assemblies in PLM and ERP.
  • Working with the CAD, PLM, Solidworks, MS Office.

Your Profile

  • Degree from a technical university (equivalent to a bachelor’s degree) in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Professional experience/experience in design (at least three years) in the field of plant engineering/mechanical engineering.
  • Knowledge of foreign languages (fluent English, German is optional).
  • Very good 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks).
  • Experience with PLM and ERP.
  • Knowledge of structural engineering, pneumatics, calculating manufacturing costs.
  • Ability to quickly acquire new technical skills.
  • Independent, reliable and conscientious work.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
