1. Area of Application

1.1 The following privacy policy applies to use of the website. This website is provided by J. Schmalz GmbH, Aacher Strasse 29, 72293 Glatten, Germany.

1.2 Protecting your personal data and particularly your personality rights, while processing and using this information is very important to us. Personal data is collected, processed and used according to the provisions of the German Telemedia Act (TMG) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

2. Automatic Data Collection and Processing by the Browser

2.1 Like every website, our server automatically and temporarily stores the following information in the server log files that are transmitted by the browser if you have not deactivated this function:

  • IP address of the computer making the request
  • The client’s data request
  • The http response code
  • The website from which you accessed our website (referrer URL)
  • The time of the server request
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used on the computer making the request

The server log files are not evaluated in a way that could result in personal identification. At no point in time can the provider attribute this data to a specific person. This data is not combined with other sources of data.

2.2 This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your anonymized IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States . Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above. To provide visitors more choice on how their data is collected by Google Analytics, Google developed the Opt-out Browser Add-on. By installing this Add-on, no information is being sent to Google Analytics.

3. Data Collection and Processing of Voluntarily Provided Data

3.1 Generally, if you provide us with personal data (your first and last name, e-mail address, address) by e-mail or using our website, you are doing so voluntarily. This data is used to fulfill the obligations of contractual relationships with you, to process your inquiries and orders, for our own market research and opinion polls and for our advertisement by mail and e-mail. Other use of the data will be made only in the context of a consent given by you; nor will we pass it on to third parties for advertisement, marketing or polling purposes without your consent.

3.2 If you want to subscribe to our newsletter, we need your e-mail address. Telling us your name is optional. This data will only be used to communicate with you through our newsletter. By subscribing to the newsletter, you consent to our storing the aforementioned data in order to send you the newsletter. No other use of the data will be made. You can revoke your consent to future use of your data in this manner at any time. You can do so by changing the newsletter settings in your user account.

4. Disclosure to Third Parties

Any personal data you have provided us, will not be disclosed to third parties. We only disclose this data:

  • If you consent to it (see Item 3.2)
  • In order to process your inquiries, orders or to provide your with our service to the contact in your country based subsidiary or to the relevant distribution partner, for the relevant person in your country please see our contact page
  • In order to process your inquiries or orders, or to provide you with our services, to the extent that we commission subcontractors to do so; the subcontractors will only receive the necessary data for the relevant order and will use it exclusively for that purpose. For commissioned data processing as defined in Section 11 of the BDSG by service providers under the terms of the BDSG
  • In order to fulfill legal obligations to provide the competent authorities with this information

5. Cookies

The website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files which are saved locally in your browser’s cache. In particular, the cookies are used to recognize the Internet browser. Cookies are used for session management and statistical analysis. They do not contain any personal data. You can set your browser so that no cookies are stored on the hard disk or any cookies already stored there will be deleted.
