Schmalz honored at the German Sustainability Award

Vacuum specialist Schmalz was honored on Friday in Düsseldorf at the prestigious German Sustainability Award: In the category "medium-sized companies", the company is one of the three most sustainable companies in Germany. Schmalz convinced the jury with its comprehensive approach to sustainability, in which the company consistently implements economic success with ecological responsibility and social commitment as a holistic system.

With around 1,200 high-ranking guests from politics, business and society, the festive award ceremony for the coveted "Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis" (German Sustainability Award) took place in Düsseldorf. For the twelfth time, the Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis Foundation honored companies that are pioneers in breaking new ground with innovative products and services, high ecological standards in production or special social responsibility. "Being among the top three companies in this high-ranking competition is a great honor for us," says Dr. Kurt Schmalz. "The issue of sustainability is very important to us - and has been for almost 110 years, since our company was founded. I am all the more pleased that the expert jury also honors our efforts in this area."

J. Schmalz GmbH shows how economic success and sustainability can go hand in hand. With maximum resource efficiency throughout the entire product life cycle and exemplary commitment, the company plays a pioneering role in the industry, according to the expert jury. In this context, the company sees its sustainable orientation as a clear competitive advantage that benefits customers, suppliers and employees alike. "This excellent ranking confirms our daily work, and the thanks naturally go to our employees. We contribute our part to a sustainable society by working and acting sustainably," says Andreas Beutel, Managing Director of J. Schmalz GmbH.

This year, Dr. Franziska Giffey, Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, held patronage of the German Sustainability Award. She emphasized the importance of sustainability commitment in our society: "Living sustainably means securing the future. A future in which future generations can live well and safely, in which children have every opportunity. Many people contribute to this: in environmental protection, for social and peaceful coexistence in cities and communities, for sustainable economic activity that enables prosperity today and in the future."
