JFV Nordschwarzwald dominates Under-13 tournament at the 4th Schmalz Cup
This is what winners look like: The Under-13 team from JFV Nordschwarzwald are happy about the tournament victory.
The Under-9 games kicked off the day on Saturday, followed by the Under-11 in the afternoon. In a thrilling final, SGM Zimmern/Horgen prevailed over SV Würzbach 1:0 in the Under-11's match - including voltage right up to the last minute. In the match for third place, VfL Nagold won 3:0 against SpVgg 08 Schramberg.
On Sunday, the Under-13 teams and the youngest players, the Bambinis, competed. The Under-13 final was particularly high-scoring: JFV Nordschwarzwald won 5:2 against SG Empfingen. After an even start, the JFV went into turbo mode at 2:2 and scored three more goals. Overall, the tournament winners were the dominant team of the day: with eight wins from eight games, the team from Dornstetten, Glatten, Aach and Hallwangen was unstoppable. The second team from JFV Nordschwarzwald also impressed and was safe in third place with a 4:1 victory over SGM Wendelsheim in the match for third place.
The Spvgg Freudenstadt, which had organized the tournament together with Schmalz, catered for the physical well-being of the numerous spectators. The Schmalz Cup not only offered exciting matches, but also a great platform for sporting exchange and team spirit in juniors soccer.
The trophy for the Under-13 tournament goes to the JFV Nordschwarzwald for the first time this year.
Exciting matches are also on offer in the Under-11 tournament on Saturday.
