Schmalz at the K: clever relief, smart automation
The vacuum tube lifter JumboFlex Mobile is easy to use in different locations.
The plastics industry needs flexible solutions for different production scenarios. The vacuum tube lifter JumboFlex Mobile masters this challenge thanks to its transportable design. Applications can quickly move the system to different locations and handle workpieces weighing up to 50 kilograms ergonomically. The compact transport dimensions thanks to the height-adjustable column make it particularly easy to move between individual machines or entire production lines. The tube lifter works with a mains voltage of 400 volts and can be operated using standard industrial sockets. This significantly reduces installation work and downtimes when relocating.
Ergonomics in potentially explosive areas
A modular aluminum jib crane optimally covers the working area for lifting devices in potentially explosive environments. Developed for use with the vacuum tube lifter Jumbo, it moves loads weighing up to 140 kilograms - back-friendly and precise. Thanks to wall or column mounting, it adapts flexibly to any environment. The crane is certified for ATEX zones 1/21 and 2/22 and is therefore suitable for industries with strict safety requirements. Among other things, Schmalz supplemented equipotential bonding and adapted cable trolleys and transport trolleys for this purpose. The aluminum cranes from Schmalz save applications more than 60 percent force compared to conventional steel systems. In combination with the vacuum tube lifter JumboSprint EX, they receive an individually configurable system for every task.
Intelligent control for modern production plants
With the mini compact terminal SCTMi, Schmalz is presenting a clever solution for the automated handling of airtight and slightly porous materials at the K trade show. The series is available with up to 16 SCPMi ejectors suitable for mounting on blocks and with common communication interfaces (IO-Link, PROFINET, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP). There is also a new variant with interlocked valves that divides a central vacuum generator into different suction zones. Ejectors can be replaced quickly and easily. The special feature: The SCTMi models already have an integrated power blow-off function as a standard. Thanks to their compact dimensions and low weight, they are flexible to install and can withstand high accelerations on the axis. Visitors to the booth will be able to see the system's performance for themselves in a demonstration. Schmalz uses suction cups made of the high-temperature material HT1 on the gripper, which is also particularly good at leaving few marks.
Modular area grippers for versatile applications
The matrix area gripper FMG automates the handling of different workpiece shapes and dimensions. The area gripper is particularly flexible in high-mix, low-volume processes. It picks up individual workpieces from complete storages and grips even very thin parts with process reliability. This is made possible by individually controllable suction cups in each module; several modules can be blocked together to form a large area gripper. Even if the actuator voltage is lost, the matrix area gripper FMG holds the suctioned workpieces.

Schmalz also has suitable lifting aids for Ex zones: The new ATEX jib crane for vacuum tube lifters.
The mini compact valve SCTMi can be connected to an external vacuum source and has an integrated power blow-off as a standard.
The modular area gripper FMG is a convincing choice for high-mix, low-volume applications.
