Schmalz Lifting Devices at Istanbul Airport - Turkey becomes "Company of the Year"

"Our subsidiary in Turkey has done an excellent job and completed some great orders in the logistics sector," reports Andreas Beutel, Managing Director at Schmalz. Among other things, pieces of luggage have been handled with ergonomic lifting devices from Glatten at Istanbul Airport since last year.

The "Company of the Year" award is measured by the development of earnings, sales and productivity. This is the third time after 2011 and 2020 that the award has gone to Istanbul, after Schmalz USA topped the list last year. "The automation of processes plays a very important role in almost all industries and we continue to see good growth opportunities in Turkey as well," says Andreas Beutel. But other subsidiaries also had reason to rejoice: Schmalz India won the Best Marketing Initiative Award, Schmalz USA was chosen in the Best Digital Sales Initiative category, and the prize for Best Sales & Service Initiative went to Schmalz Switzerland.

"The event with all international managing directors is always a highlight," says Dr. Kurt Schmalz, managing partner at Schmalz. "The exchange of experiences brings us many new impulses. All subsidiaries can learn from each other and continue to improve." The meeting focused primarily on the strategic and organizational orientation for the coming year. However, expectations and goals in the individual markets as well as product innovations and sales strategies were also discussed in particular detail.

The Schmalz Group now has 29 locations worldwide. The group of companies employs around 1,800 people worldwide, about 1,000 of them at the headquarters in Glatten.
