For sustainable innovations: Dr. Kurt Schmalz receives Rudolf Diesel Medal

The Rudolf Diesel Medal, Europe's oldest innovation prize, has been awarded since 1953 in memory of the innovator Rudolf Diesel for economically successful, entrepreneurial innovation achievements. The award honors entrepreneurial personalities and companies that have demonstrated their inventive spirit on the one hand and their ability to successfully implement ideas in an entrepreneurial manner on the other. The German Institute for Invention (Deutsches Institut für Erfindungswesen e.V.) has been the sponsoring organization of the Rudolf Diesel Medal since 1982. The award winners are selected by the Rudolf Diesel Board of Trustees, which consists of over fifty technology directors from world market-leading, medium-sized technology companies.
