Schmalz expands in the UK

Ready for the island: On July 1, 2021, J. Schmalz GmbH opened its first branch office in the United Kingdom in Manchester. The managing director is Marc Booth. The 48-year-old Englishman is a specialist in automation and has already held several management positions in various well-known companies. In addition to day-to-day business, he will continue to develop the branch and will be responsible for sales of vacuum technology for automation and robotics. "The new branch office is another important milestone on our path of internationalization," says Dr. Kurt Schmalz, managing partner of J. Schmalz GmbH, and adds: "We are very pleased to have Marc Booth on board with his sound experience."

Until now, Schmalz has worked exclusively with one sales partner in the United Kingdom. Turbo Vacuumentation, based in Cheshire, will continue to sell the manual handling and also crane systems. In parallel, Schmalz UK also sells manual vacuum technology, plus vacuum automation products to users in the automotive, mechanical engineering, woodworking, pharmaceutical, aerospace and plastics industries. The sales network extends from England and Wales to Scotland and Northern Ireland.
