Schmalz honors most successful company

At the beginning of the new business year, the managing directors of the international Schmalz companies exchanged ideas - this time the meeting was held online for corona reasons. Due to the different time zones of the 30 international participants, the event was held in two staggered online meetings. One item on the agenda was the award of the coveted "Schmalz Company of the Year" trophy, which was finally claimed by the team from Schmalz Türkiye. The company, which is headquartered in Istanbul, performed best in the Schmalz Group during the challenging 2020 fiscal year. Managing Directors Dr. Kurt Schmalz and Andreas Beutel congratulated Tahir Kavak, Managing Director of Schmalz Türkiye, and his team on this success. Second place went to Schmalz Italy, followed by Schmalz Finland in third place.

During the meetings, sales strategies for the vacuum technology products were defined and the market opportunities for new products were discussed. The impact of the pandemic on the economy in the individual countries was also a major topic. Participants also shared their experiences with the new digital channels and online offerings that Schmalz has created in recent months. These include the new virtual vacuum technology trade show SchmalzEXPO, where customers can find out about new products from Glatten and get advice from the sales team. Some interactive workshops and live demos from the various company divisions provided variety and rounded off the program of the two-day online event.

Due to the Corona pandemic, the Schmalz Group is currently receiving more inquiries from the logistics sector and the pharmaceutical industry, including inquiries about the handling of vaccine doses. Robotics and the general automation industry are also among the growth areas. In addition to its headquarters in Glatten, the Schmalz Group has 19 other companies worldwide.
