Fit into the fall: Health days at Schmalz
During the "pupillography" the daytime sleepiness was measured. After the measurement, the Schmalz employees received tips tailored to their results.
The definition of "sustainability" includes the so-called ESG criteria. ESG stands for Environment, Social and Governance. The definition makes people aware that the topic of sustainability is not only about environmental aspects, but also about health and well-being in the "Social" area. "With the health days, we want to set an example for sustainability and a healthy, active life" says Manja Hies, Head of Sustainability at Schmalz. "The well-being of our employees is very important to us. We want to support them so that they stay fit and healthy even in their hectic workday" Manja Hies continues.
At the Schmalz Health Days, employees were offered various professionally supervised modules to participate in. The "BrainFit" course was about the power of the mind and how employees can increase their mental performance. In addition, special mobility training was offered, with fitness trainers showing how to improve mobility with simple, effective exercises. A presentation by nutritionist Sven Bach on the topic of nutrition in connection with mental and psychological health rounded off the program.
In addition, the dedicated staff competes against each other in teams during the Schmalz Activity Challenge. Whether running, cycling or yoga - all the movers and sports units are tracked for each team for a month via an app. The activists can win great prizes.
