"The electrical Compact Pump GCPi is an absolute game changer in terms of vacuum generation and a milestone for energy efficiency," says Dr. Kurt Schmalz, Managing Partner. "The award is an incentive for us to continue right there: To develop vacuum solutions that are not only innovative, but at the same time help to protect the environment, resources and the climate."
Since 2009, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry for the Environment, Climate and Energy Management has awarded the Environmental Technology Prize every two years to companies in the state whose innovative products, technologies and processes make a significant contribution to protecting the environment or conserving natural resources. State Secretary for the Environment Dr. Andre Baumann presented the awards to the winners and nominees from more than 120 applications at the Schwabenlandhalle in Fellbach on October 24, 2023. "This year's award winners and the extensive list of nominated companies show how imaginatively Baden-Württemberg's industry is working to manufacture its products sustainably and in a way that conserves resources," said Dr. Andre Baumann. "With the Environmental Technology Award, we want to make these innovations visible."
In 2022, Schmalz presented the Compact-Pump GCPi, a high-performance vacuum generator with a purely electrical suction and ventilation function. The user receives a compressed air-free vacuum system with the performance of conventional ejector solutions. Schmalz has thus created a technology that does not require energy-intensive compressed air and still performs on a par with existing vacuum generators in terms of power. In this way, Schmalz revolutionizes vacuum generation and ensures that energy consumption in the application is drastically reduced.
