Vakuum Handling

Schmalz offers a variety of vacuum handling products. A distinction is made between vacuum technology for automation and vacuum handling systems. The basic principle is the same: A vacuum generator, such as an ejector or a pump, creates a vacuum. Due to the vacuum, the workpiece to be lifted is pressed against the vacuum suction cup and can be moved safely. Vacuum handling shortens cycle times and manipulates workpieces gently without leaving any marks.

Manual Vacuum Handling

Schmalz offers vacuum handling devices for manual applications. There are two main product groups: Vacuum tube lifters and vacuum lifting devices. Vacuum tube lifters have a lift tube that contracts when a vacuum is created. This allows the workpiece to be lifted and moved. If intake air flows into the lift tube, the tube lifter lowers and the workpiece can be deposited. Vacuum generation is decentralized. With a vacuum lifting device, the vacuum generator is mounted directly on the lifting device. The lifting device can be controlled using a chain hoist. Schmalz vacuum handling systems can be supplemented with a responsive aluminium crane. The combination of this crane system and a lifting device that handles heavy loads makes vacuum handling particularly ergonomic.

Automated Vacuum Handling

Automated vacuum handling is almost the opposite of manual vacuum handling. Vacuum components and gripping systems can be used in all areas of automation technology whether in the robot industry or in mechanical engineering. Schmalz offers a wide range of vacuum suction cups, ejectors and connection elements. As a result, almost any workpiece can be handled, regardless of whether it is a sensitive small part such as an electronic chip or an unwieldy metal part in the automotive industry. Complicated lifting processes are made easy thanks to pre-configured suction spiders or pallet grippers. Experienced system consultants are on hand to help you select the right vacuum handling solution.
