VC-K1 Hose-Free Vacuum Block Clamping System for Clamping Wooden Boards in a CNC Machining Center

In a CNC machining center with vacuum-driven machine tables, workpieces which are to be processed have to be vacuum clamped such that they can then be processed. The workpieces are of varying size. The VC-K1 hose-free vacuum clamping system is designed to be a console table system for equipping CNC machining centers for the first time with vacuum-driven machine tables. The hose-free vacuum guide allows the vacuum block to be positioned quickly and flexibly on the consoles.

The console tables consist of aluminum consoles ready for connection, with internal vacuum distribution and integrated stops for positioning the workpieces precisely. The VC-K1 console table system is equipped with a single-circuit vacuum system, meaning that the vacuum block in these systems is prefastened mechanically to the console beforehand. Once the workpiece has been positioned, the workpiece and the vacuum block are finally fastened to the console by activating the operating vacuum.

Thanks to the wide range of vacuum blocks with various contact surfaces and heights, the vacuum clamping systems from Schmalz enable many different workpieces to be machined. The utmost process reliability is guaranteed by the high suction power of up to 850 N and horizontal holding forces of up to 600 N. Thus a dimensional accuracy of up to +/- 0.06 mm is possible.

The vacuum blocks are also made from high-quality, wear-resistant plastic to ensure a long service life. The suction plates in the vacuum blocks can be replaced easily and at a low cost.
