JumboFlex 50 – New Suction Plate for Handling Cardboard Boxes

Elongated suction plates offer an alternative to round suction cups. They are primarily used in intra-logistics, where unstable cardboard or slightly curved parts need to be lifted securely and gently. The suction plates in the SAOF series are made from wear-resistant nitrile rubber (NBR) and are ideal for the workpiece surfaces to be handled. The SAOF also now comes in a size with dimensions of 180 mm x 90 mm. J. Schmalz GmbH gave the suction plate adequate dimensions to ensure it remains compact but still has the suction area required for the vacuum tube lifter JumboFlex 50. That means it can safely transport loads of up to 50 kilograms. Along with this addition to the SAOF range, Schmalz has also introduced new grippers to the JumboFlex portfolio that allow it to cater for even more specific customer requirements. The following double suction gripper versions are available for the JumboFlex series 20, 35 and 50: with adjustable or non-adjustable suction plates, with beams in standard dimensions or in custom lengths. The grippers have a compact design and are also suitable for smaller workpieces. 

Schmalz is also introducing new beams for the new grippers. These beams can be used to connect up to four suction plates of your choice. Since the position of both the suction plates and the cross beams can be adjusted, the user can find the perfect gripper for every workpiece size.
