The jugs are filled automatically using a roller belt, but they have always been carried away by hand. Since the jugs can weigh up to 10 kg each, and a large number must be processed each day, this has proven to be very strenuous for the employees. The firm was looking for a solution that would allow the work to be done faster and would be less harmful to the workers' health.
The vacuum tube lifter JumboErgo 65 was just what they were looking for. It is equipped with a special gripper and a main beam that is 1,200 mm long. Five single-hook heads are attached to the main beam. These allow the jugs to be lifted by their handles. This makes it possible to simultaneously lift five jugs weighing 10 kg each and place them on the pallet. The pallets are sealed in plastic film using a stretch wrapping machine and then delivered. The employees are particularly enthusiastic about the ergonomic operating unit of the vacuum tube lifter JumboErgo, and they do not want to do without it. Being able to unload roller belts more quickly increases productivity. This adds to the customer value and shows that Schmalz has an answer for every problem, even if it requires a highly customized solution.
