Vacuum Tube Lifter JumboFlex for Ergonomic Commissioning of Cardboard Boxes

In a connector technology company, around 2000 cardboard boxes each weighing up to 25 kg are commissioned each day in global distribution. This used to be done by hand. It was exhausting for employees and caused back and hip problems due to the high volume of cardboard box lifting involved. To make the process more ergonomic and to provide sustainable relief for employees, the company decided to purchase a vacuum lifting device from Schmalz.

The vacuum tube lifter JumboFlex 35 is ideally suited for handling cardboard boxes weighing up to 35 kg. The ergonomic operating element can be easily controlled with just one finger and is designed for both right and left-handers. The JumboFlex 35 is equipped with a double suction pad. This has a swiveling unit of up to 90° allowing loads to be flexibly vacuum-gripped. The radio remote control installed in the operating element enables the vacuum generator to be switched on and off. The vacuum generator can be switched off during breaks thereby reducing energy costs.

The tube lifter is attached to an aluminum single-girder crane system from Schmalz. The crane system covers an application area of 14 x 7 meters. The favorable weight-load ratio ensures a high-level of ergonomics and perfect low-friction operation. This minimizes the force required when moving loads.
