We are very satisfied with the solution. Quality, a good price-performance ratio and short delivery times are unbeatable arguments for us.∼ Ralf Gutekunst, Operations Manager at Dittus Holzmanufaktur GmbH

Fast CNC Fixing With high Holding Force and Short Delivery Times
For optimum results with Biesse CNC woodworking machines, safe workpiece fixing is crucial. As an alternative to the original clamping devices, Schmalz offers the robust VCBL-B vacuum blocks. Holzmanufaktur Dittus GmbH has been using these suction cups for several years and benefits from cost-effective spare parts and fast availability.

The customer: Joinery Dittus GmbH
Holzmanufaktur Dittus GmbH in Ammerbuch near Tübingen has been active in wood processing for 111 years. The company's ten-strong team specializes in furnishing solutions, particularly for the retail sector and medical practices. They finish surfaces such as worktops and kitchen fronts and manufacture cabinets and tables from a variety of wood types and panel materials such as MDF, pressboard and multiplex.
The challenge
Dittus works with the Rover C6 CNC machining center from the renowned Italian manufacturer Biesse and faced the following demanding challenges. Firstly, the vacuum blocks from Biesse, which are used to reliably hold the workpieces in place, have a slot for the rubber seal. If this rubber seal is damaged, the entire vacuum block has to be replaced at great expense. Secondly, the robust plastic support of the original vacuum blocks can damage sensitive surfaces and thus impair the quality of the processed workpieces. Thirdly, the procurement of spare parts is challenging, as the original manufacturer operates with longer delivery times. This leads to supply problems and compromises operational process reliability.
The solution from Schmalz
The Schmalz VCBL-B vacuum blocks offer the carpenter an optimal solution. In the event of wear or damage to the suction plate, there is no need to replace expensive complete components. Instead, an employee can remove the defective suction plate in a few simple steps and fit the new element without any problems, making the suction cup ready for use again immediately. Another plus point is the soft elastomer suction plate, which is gentle on sensitive surfaces. The VCBL-B vacuum blocks from Schmalz have been specially developed as a hose-free vacuum clamping system for Biesse console tables. They are fully compatible with the original manufacturer's vacuum blocks and enable mixed operation. Carpenters can align the suction areas in a flexible manner by placing the vacuum blocks in the standard holders in 15-degree increments using the adapter ring. This increases flexibility, reduces set-up times and ensures safe fixing with clamping lugs and magnets in the Suction cup mounting. An integrated touch valve only activates the suction cups at the bottom of the workpieces, allowing vacuum blocks that are not required to remain on the table. If damaged, the button can be easily replaced without having to replace the entire suction cup. This solution is an extremely effective option for the carpentry workshop.
