FAQ: Frequently asked questions

Which workpieces can I handle with the suction lifter Gripster?

Air-tight workpieces can be handled with the suction lifter Gripster max. These include porcelain tiles, patio tiles, ceramic tiles, stone slabs, smooth and ribbed sheet metal, coated furniture panels, solid wood, fermacell panels, plasterboard, window glass, plexiglas, textured glass and photovoltaic/solar panels.

What are the advantages of a battery-powered suction lifter compared to manual models?

Manual suction lifters generate a single vacuum. This means that if leakage occurs, the workpiece drops without any prior warning. With a battery-powered suction lifter, sensors continuously monitor the pressure. The integrated vacuum generator automatically adjusts in the event of a pressure loss and visual indicators provide information on the current status of the device – so your workpiece remains safely in position even in the event of leakage. Furthermore, unlike manual models, suction is effortless with the suction lifter Gripster.

Which battery can be used?

All 18V CAS batteries with Metabo technology can be used with the suction lifter Gripster. The 2 Ah battery is recommended.

How can the equipment be installed?

To install the equipment correctly in the suction lifter Gripster max, the following steps must be observed:

  1. Switch off the device

Is the product protected according to the IP standard?

Temporary splashing water on the housing does not cause any direct damage to the device. However, permanent rain, the intake of vertical water and constantly humid environments should be avoided in order to maintain long-term functionality.

How is the maintenance of the product carried out?

The self-test can be used to check whether maintenance is necessary and, if so, in which area there may be a problem. A self-test is recommended after every 1,000 cycles and the device alerts you to this in good time with a message on the display.
For maintenance, the user has the option of changing the sealing on the suction plate between the suction plate and the device and the filter. For other problems, the device must be sent in.

What safety standards does the device meet during operation?

The device has been designed and developed in accordance with the current laws and standards of the target countries. Identified risks have been taken into account in the design in cooperation with an independent testing institute (DEKRA). Necessary safety instructions are listed in the instruction manual.
