Vacuum Tube Lifter JumboErgo for Ergonomic Handling of Inverters

The new production facility and the switch to fully automated processes and order-based production require a smooth flow of materials. A separate workstation was set up to subject the goods to quality control. The inverters, which weigh 40 kg, have to be lifted out of the box and transported to a work table. To facilitate the manual process and make it ergonomic, a vacuum tube lifter with column-mounted slewing crane was purchased from Schmalz.

The vacuum tube lifter JumboErgo is designed for loads of up to 65 kilos. An ergonomic operating handle protects the physical strain of the employees. Lifting and lowering is controlled by a sensitive rotary handle, similar to a motorcycle throttle grip. The tube lifter is equipped with two suction plates made of NBR. The flexible sealing lip adapts well to the curved, partially textured housing cover. On the 400 millimeter long crosshead, the suction plates can be easily adjusted by means of a clamping lever. The tube lifter uses a sensing valve to detect that the suction plates are occupied or that a handling process is starting. The vacuum tube lifter is guided on a flat-mounted column-mounted slewing crane. The slewing crane was specially designed for applications with low room heights and, with a jib length of 4m, provides excellent coverage of the operator's working area. With the complete package, the inverters can be handled ergonomically and back-friendly by one operator.
