Solutions for a wide range of requirements
Vacuum technology is suitable for a wide variety of industries and requirements: for the gentle handling of sensitive surfaces as well as for applications in harsh production environments. Schmalz products are in demand worldwide: customers include small craft businesses as well as international automotive groups. With the business unit of energy storage, the company is building up another mainstay in the area of stationary energy storage.
Vacuum Automation
Schmalz develops and manufactures vacuum components for all common applications. These include grippers, connection elements, components for system monitoring, filters, connections and vacuum generators.
However, the Schmalz portfolio includes not only individual components, but also complete systems and robotics solutions. For use in automated production, picking and distribution logistics, Schmalz develops plug-and-work gripping systems.
And for cases where clamping is required, there are clamping solutions from Schmalz. These are used in machining and assembly tasks. Components made of wood, metal, glass or plastic are securely fixed with vacuum.
Handling
Vacuum tube lifters from Schmalz are designed for ergonomic handling of loads weighing up to 300 kilograms. They optimize material flow processes that require high handling frequency and speed.
Vacuum lifting devices can be used to transport very large and heavy goods weighing several tons. For example, machine loading with wooden or metal panels can be carried out by just one person in a process-safe and health-conserving manner.
Schmalz plans and manufactures individual crane systems - as a supplement or as a stand-alone solution.
Energy Storage
In the energy storage business unit, Schmalz develops storage solutions with which regeneratively generated energy can be temporarily stored and used as needed. The company relies on so-called redox flow battery systems. At the heart of these systems are the stacks: they determine the quality and performance of the battery. Schmalz manufactures these stacks industrially at its headquarters in Glatten. A battery demonstrator is also available to customers and interested parties there, which clearly shows how such systems work.
In the energy storage business unit, Schmalz builds on in-depth know-how in the areas of manufacturing systems, plastics and handling technology.
