Operation mode of a smart hoist

The smart hoist works on the principle of load relief: the load is lifted via a rope that is wound on a drum driven by an electric motor. By winding and unwinding the rope in a controlled manner, the device supports the lifting and lowering of the load and ensures a smooth, guided movement. The control system continuously detects the hand movements made by the operator and converts them directly into precise lifting and lowering strokes.

Depending on the application, the smart hoist is equipped with suitable load handling attachments, such as grippers or hook systems. Optional coupling systems enable the individual tools to be changed quickly and without tools, so that the system can be optimally adapted to changing tasks.

The modernly equipped NEO 30 smart hoist from Binar Handling is available as a battery-powered variant. Binar Handling's Quick-Lift systems are equipped with an electrical drive and intelligent control electronics. The system can be operated intuitively thanks to the sensor-based detection of the manual force applied to the control handle: The worker determines the lifting direction and speed with minimal hand movements. The lifting speed adapts to the movement of the hand and enables precise and gentle positioning of the load.

Areas of application in industry and production

In conveyor technology and material handling, smart hoists enable bulky loads to be moved quickly. In order picking, production and on production lines, they reduce physical strain and significantly increase efficiency.

The areas of application range from classic machine components and the precise handling of a wide variety of workpieces to the handling of bags, barrels, cardboard boxes and other containers. The smart hoist shows its strengths particularly in assembly-intensive processes with high precision requirements and in recurring lifting operations.

In combination with crane systems, smart hoists enable a flexible and operator-guided handling system. Workpieces can be positioned effortlessly over larger distances or directly on the component. Thanks to its smooth-running design and precise control, cycle times are reduced and loads can be repositioned more quickly.

In storage and logistics environments, smart hoists help to relieve employees and enable safe and reliable material handling.

Ergonomic benefits and employee health

Smart hoists as industrial lifting aids are an important tool for promoting employee health. Ergonomic handling reduces stress in the workplace. The ergonomically designed workplace, supported by smart hoists, makes a lasting contribution to reducing the risk of injury.

The system makes it possible to move heavy loads effortlessly without physically overstraining the employee. This leads to fatigue-free working throughout the entire shift. The user-friendly operation and easy handling make the device accessible to every employee, regardless of physical strength or experience.

Especially for repetitive tasks - where manual handling would otherwise lead to overuse injuries - smart hoists offer a sustainable solution. They not only promote safe and efficient production, but also the well-being and productivity of employees.

Frequently asked questions

What is a smart hoist?

A smart hoist is an industrial lifting aid for manual lifting and lowering of loads. It supports precise, operator-guided movement of workpieces.

Which load handling attachments (e.g. grippers) can be used on the smart hoist?

Smart hoists can be equipped with suitable load handling attachments depending on the application. Typical grippers (e.g. magnetic grippers, scissor grippers, mechanical grippers), hooks (including flat hook grippers) and special pick-up systems for components, cardboard boxes, bags or barrels. The gripping mechanism can be achieved in mechanical, electrical or pneumatic versions.

What advantages does a smart hoist offer over classic hoists?

Smart hoists offer sensitive, precise movement control, ergonomic relief and fast cycle times for recurring lifting operations. Thanks to sensor-supported control (manual force detection) and automatic adaptation of the lifting speed, loads can be positioned in a safe, controlled and virtually force-free manner.
