Erhardt Markisenbau GmbH manufactures high-quality sun protection solutions. Erhardt was looking for a solution to transport the heavy and bulky awnings ergonomically. The solution from Schmalz, a tube lifter JumboErgo 200 in combination with a column-mounted jib crane, improves ergonomics and increases productivity.

Erhardt Markisenbau GmbH specializes in the manufacture of individual shading solutions. With round 260 employees at the Burtenbach production site between Ulm and Augsburg, Erhardt manufactures awnings, patio covers, all-glass sliding doors, pergolas and outdoor living products in various sizes, colors and materials.

Erhardt Markisenbau wanted to optimize the handling of its awnings. The packaged products are up to seven meters in length and weigh up to 200 kilograms. At peak times, Erhardt produces up to 600 awnings per day. Previously, the employees transported these bulky and heavy packages without any aids. They had to place the packages by hand from the packaging line onto the transport trolleys, which was physically very strenuous. The physical strain led to frequent absences and a high staff turnover.

Schmalzova rešitev

The solution developed by Schmalz for Erhardt Markisenbau combines a vacuum tube lifter JumboErgo 200 with an SK-JU 200 column-mounted jib crane. The tube lifter JumboErgo 200 is specially designed for the safe and efficient lifting of heavy loads weighing up to 200 kilograms. The gripper consists of twelve bellows suction cups mounted on a four-meter-long beam. This ensures even load distribution and a safe holder for the cardboard boxes. The tube lifter JumboErgo 200 is mounted on a robust and flexible column-mounted jib crane. The crane offers a reach of up to six meters and a maximum load capacity of 200 kilograms.
