A Schmalz Connect Suite and vacuum generators from Schmalz with IO-Link must be present in the system in order to use Device Monitoring. A generic dashboard is available for IO-Link products from other manufacturers.

Information technology (IT): IT comprises the control, processing, storage and backup of data, including the hardware and software used for this purpose.

Operational Technology (OT): Operational Technology (OT) refers to the hardware and software required for the control, regulation, monitoring and control of machines, systems and processes.

Industrial information technology (IIT): This acts as a link between the areas of IT and OT. It helps to collect data from the OT area and transport it to the IT area. This data is not directly related to machine and plant control, but is essential for process control and optimization, e.g. for quality monitoring/evaluation, logistics and material flow.
