Vacuum Lifting Device VacuMaster Basic Helps with Customer Order Picking of Checker Plates

In a customer order picking system, you often have to lift individual sheet metal elements from pallets and a new order picking process is carried out for each order. This work requires several employees because the sheet metal elements measure 1,500 x 3,000 mm (length by width) and can weigh as much as 230 kg. The firm was seeking a cost-effective solution to relieve the strain on the employees and provide for gentle handing of the somehow delicate material.

With its wide range of suction plates, the vacuum lifting device VacuMaster Basic makes it possible to lift a large variety of workpieces. It can easily lift all sorts of sheet metal elements (including checker plates) and deposit them for order picking. In this particular case, the lifting device is equipped with six suction plates that can be individually adapted to the length of the respective workpiece. These suction plates are made of high-quality materials to ensure that the sheet metal does not get scratched. Because the vacuum lifting device can be operated by one person alone, it reduces personnel costs considerably. The handling system is completed by an column-mounted slewing crane SK from Schmalz, which has a jib length of 5,000 mm to ensure maximum flexibility.
